From January to August 2025, FAW Jiefang’s sales of new energy vehicles exceeded 20,000 units. As a representative example of a traditional company rapidly transitioning to new energy, FAW Jiefang has achieved impressive market performance, with a year-on-year growth of nearly 400%. Over the past four years, FAW Jiefang’s new energy vehicle sales have doubled, maintaining its industry-leading growth rate. It also leads the tractor and cargo truck industries, and continues to lead the sales growth of new energy products such as special-purpose and garbage trucks.
FAW Jiefang is accelerating the upgrade and iteration of its new energy products, striving to enhance their adaptability and competitiveness. It boasts five major vehicle platforms, encompassing five product lines: tractor, cargo truck, dump truck, special-purpose, and passenger truck.
FAW Jiefang’s goal is to satisfy and create value for its users, with a customer-centric approach. By deeply exploring 14 niche scenarios and launching over 50 targeted products, FAW Jiefang has built a highly adaptable and comprehensive product portfolio. Focusing on key areas of concern to commercial vehicle users, the company is pursuing technological breakthroughs in energy efficiency, lightweighting, and comfort, leading the way in the transition from “traditional vehicle electrification” to “core assembly digitalization.”
In terms of new products, FAW Jiefang has successively launched lightweight 2.0 traction products, high-capacity mining dump trucks, low-capacity factory logistics cargo transport products, large-volume lightweight mixing products, high-temperature-resistant feed transport products, low-cost direct-drive sanitation products, and a bus + highway series passenger vehicle, creating a strong product portfolio that leads the industry.
FAW Jiefang is pursuing three technological paths: pure electric, hybrid, and fuel cell. In the pure electric vehicle sector, it has achieved full independent control of the three core technologies and has deeply deployed a comprehensive industry chain system, building a complete industrial ecosystem encompassing key links such as self-developed battery packs, motors and electric drive axles, transmissions, and thermal management systems.
For hybrid vehicles, it has completed a multi-configuration hybrid product portfolio equipped with efficient, dedicated self-developed engines and transmissions. For fuel cells, it has developed two technological paths: hydrogen fuel cells and hydrogen engines. Fuel cell systems have completed system development covering the 80-400kW power range, with industry-leading performance indicators across all products. FAW Jiefang has mastered 77 key core technologies in areas such as hydrogen engines, ammonia-hydrogen fusion internal combustion engines, and fuel cells.
