The D1 standard, China’s first diesel engine oil standard with fully independent intellectual property rights, has been officially released. This establishes an independently controllable technical specification system and lays the foundation for the security and high-quality development of the industrial chain. The D1 standard is deeply aligned with China’s unique fuel quality, complex and changing geographical climate, and real-world user habits. Its widespread adoption will significantly improve the operating efficiency of domestically produced engines, extend their lifespan, reduce maintenance costs, and inject strong technological momentum into achieving the “dual carbon” goals.

During the standard-setting process, FAW Jiefang’s independently developed Jiefang Power CA6DM3 heavy-duty diesel engine, with its industry-first steel piston design for high thermal loads and high reinforcement, strong adaptability to China’s complex operating conditions, and excellent user reputation, became the preferred choice for screening diesel engine oil formulation performance. It was selected as the first national standard verification prototype, and during the testing and verification process, China’s first independently developed bench evaluation specification was established. This marks authoritative recognition of Jiefang Power’s leading technology and superior quality. Its extraordinary stability, precise data feedback, and keen perception of oil performance provide a solid empirical foundation for ultimately establishing standards that truly meet the actual needs of Chinese diesel engines, ensuring the scientific and authoritative nature of these standards.
Looking forward, FAW Jiefang will continue to deepen technological innovation, improve product quality, and collaborate closely with industry chain partners to accelerate the advancement of Chinese commercial vehicle and powertrain technologies towards higher quality, higher efficiency, and a greener, lower-carbon future, contributing tremendously to the transformation of China’s automotive industry from a large company to a strong one.
