FAW Jiefang J6P liquid tank maintenance

1. Tank Cleaning

To ensure the cleanliness of the raw materials inside the tank, the tank should be cleaned regularly, and dirt should be removed from the drain outlet. For the first few uses after the tank is put into operation, it is recommended that users remove the filter cap and clean the filter screen each time.

2. Chassis Maintenance

The chassis is the part closest to the ground and is greatly affected by road conditions, generally suffering more damage. Wheel covers may even become loose or perforated. Therefore, it is essential to pay attention to the cleaning and rust prevention treatment of the tanker truck chassis. In principle, maintenance should be performed every 3 months. Also, avoid using acidic or alkaline cleaning solutions to wash the body and chassis, as this may affect the rust prevention effect and shorten its duration.

3. Tank Inspection

When working inside the tank, ensure proper ventilation. Someone should be outside the tank for safety. Here’s a tip: clean the tank with soapy water before starting work.

In cold weather, if the settling tank under the tanker truck freezes, never use fire to thaw it. Instead, use hot steam to melt it or drive the truck into a heated room to defrost it.

4. Don’t Neglect the Rubber Strips and Edges

The maintenance of the rubber strips on tanker trucks is easily overlooked, but don’t underestimate them. Besides decorating the vehicle body, they play a crucial role in sealing the compartment. If they age and crack, it will seriously affect the tanker truck’s waterproofing and sound insulation performance. Therefore, it is essential to clean and maintain them regularly with a special rubber strip cleaner and replace them promptly if they show signs of aging or peeling.
