2. Yunnei Power YN30NF Engine
In terms of powertrain configuration, the Tiger V Composite Edition LNG light truck is equipped with the Yunnei Power YN30NF engine. With a displacement of 3.0L, this engine stands as one of the first mass-produced domestic four-cylinder gas engines to meet China’s National VI emission standards. It delivers a maximum power output of 130 horsepower and a peak torque of 430 N·m. Characterized by its “high torque at low RPM” profile, the engine is capable of generating an impressive 320 N·m of torque output at just 1,000 RPM.
To put it objectively, this level of power output allows the vehicle to handle any situation with ease—whether navigating the frequent stop-and-go traffic of urban roads or tackling the challenges of hill climbing and overtaking under complex road conditions. It fully satisfies the operational requirements of light trucks across a wide range of application scenarios, as well as the specific modification needs of specialized vehicle variants.
Regarding safety and reliability, the engine incorporates new materials and structural designs in its critical components. It has successfully passed multiple full-speed, full-load bench reliability tests; a 200,000-kilometer vehicle-level durability test; and two rounds of rigorous “three-high” (high temperature, high altitude, and high cold) environmental testing. These achievements have effectively resolved the inherent challenges associated with natural gas engines—specifically, issues related to high thermal loads and overall reliability.
3. Dual 175L+175L Gas Cylinders and a 15L Fuel Tank Flanking the Chassis
In terms of overall vehicle economy, LNG is more affordable than diesel in most regions. Furthermore, the YN30NF engine boasts a minimum gas consumption rate of 205 g/kWh and offers a wider range of economical operation.
During full-load simulations replicating actual user operating scenarios, the cost per kilometer was a mere 0.50–0.60 RMB—representing a 30% to 50% savings on fuel costs compared to diesel-powered vehicles.
Its performance regarding driving range is even more impressive: equipped with dual 175L+175L gas cylinders and an auxiliary 15L fuel tank—allowing for dual-fuel (gas/diesel) operation—the vehicle achieves a combined range of up to 900 km. This extensive range is more than sufficient to handle the diverse demands of urban distribution scenarios, reducing the frequency of refueling stops, boosting operational efficiency, and enabling users to bid farewell to range anxiety once and for all.
4. A 6-ton class rear drive axle with a final drive ratio of 4.875.
Paired with the Yunnei engine is the Fast 8J45TA 8-speed transmission—a unit familiar to truck drivers everywhere. Renowned for its mature technology and widespread application, this transmission is colloquially known within the industry as the “Small 8-Speed.”
The transmission features an overdrive design; when combined with the 6-ton class rear drive axle (with its 4.875 ratio), these three components form a “Golden Powertrain”—an efficient and energy-saving synergy. This configuration ensures economical and fuel-efficient operation even under full load, achieving a perfect balance between power delivery and energy conservation, thereby effectively reducing fuel consumption and enhancing operational efficiency.
5. High-Load, Low-Rolling-Resistance Tubeless Tires
The entire vehicle comes standard with high-load, low-rolling-resistance tubeless tires, enhancing the vehicle’s overall load-bearing capacity. The suspension system—featuring variable-section leaf springs configured as 3 leaves in the front and 7+3 leaves in the rear—is paired with a 6-ton-class rear axle to ensure robust load-carrying capability.
The exhibited vehicle measures 5,995 × 2,200 × 2,395 mm, with a wheelbase of 3,300 mm. It can be fitted with a stake-side cargo box measuring 4,200 × 2,100 × 410 mm; once the cargo box is installed, the vehicle’s curb weight stands at 2.56 tons.
